Full moons this year, and the reason why they are named this and the dates
Full Wolf Moon – January 15 Amid the cold and deep snows
of midwinter, the wolf packs howled hungrily outside Indian villages.
Thus, the name for January’s full Moon. Sometimes it was also referred
to as the Old Moon, or the Moon After Yule. Some called it the Full Snow
Moon, but most tribes applied that name to the next Moon.
Full Snow Moon – February 14 Since the heaviest snow
usually falls during this month, native tribes of the north and east
most often called February’s full Moon the Full Snow Moon. Some tribes
also referred to this Moon as the Full Hunger Moon, since harsh weather
conditions in their areas made hunting very difficult.
Full Worm Moon – March 16 As the temperature begins to
warm and the ground begins to thaw, earthworm casts appear, heralding
the return of the robins. The more northern tribes knew this Moon as the
Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signaled the end of winter; or
the Full Crust Moon, because the snow cover becomes crusted from
thawing by day and freezing at night. The Full Sap Moon, marking the
time of tapping maple trees, is another variation. To the settlers, it
was also known as the Lenten Moon, and was considered to be the last
full Moon of winter.
Full Pink Moon – April 15 This name came from the herb
moss pink, or wild ground phlox, which is one of the earliest widespread
flowers of the spring. Other names for this month’s celestial body
include the Full Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and among coastal
tribes the Full Fish Moon, because this was the time that the shad swam
upstream to spawn.
Full Flower Moon – May 14 In most areas, flowers are
abundant everywhere during this time. Thus, the name of this Moon. Other
names include the Full Corn Planting Moon, or the Milk Moon.
Full Strawberry Moon – June 13 This name was universal to
every Algonquin tribe. However, in Europe they called it the Rose Moon.
Also because the relatively short season for harvesting strawberries
comes each year during the month of June . . . so the full Moon that
occurs during that month was christened for the strawberry!
The Full Buck Moon – July 12 July is normally the month
when the new antlers of buck deer push out of their foreheads in
coatings of velvety fur. It was also often called the Full Thunder Moon,
for the reason that thunderstorms are most frequent during this time.
Another name for this month’s Moon was the Full Hay Moon.
Full Sturgeon Moon – August 10 The fishing tribes are
given credit for the naming of this Moon, since sturgeon, a large fish
of the Great Lakes and other major bodies of water, were most readily
caught during this month. A few tribes knew it as the Full Red Moon
because, as the Moon rises, it appears reddish through any sultry haze.
It was also called the Green Corn Moon or Grain Moon.
Full Corn Moon or Full Harvest Moon – September 8 This
full moon’s name is attributed to Native Americans because it marked
when corn was supposed to be harvested. Most often, the September full
moon is actually the Harvest Moon, which is the full Moon that occurs
closest to the autumn equinox. In two years out of three, the Harvest
Moon comes in September, but in some years it occurs in October. At the
peak of harvest, farmers can work late into the night by the light of
this Moon. Usually the full Moon rises an average of 50 minutes later
each night, but for the few nights around the Harvest Moon, the Moon
seems to rise at nearly the same time each night: just 25 to 30 minutes
later across the U.S., and only 10 to 20 minutes later for much of
Canada and Europe. Corn, pumpkins, squash, beans, and wild rice the
chief Indian staples are now ready for gathering.
Full Hunter’s Moon or Full Harvest Moon – October 8 This
full Moon is often referred to as the Full Hunter’s Moon, Blood Moon, or
Sanguine Moon. Many moons ago, Native Americans named this bright moon
for obvious reasons. The leaves are falling from trees, the deer are
fattened, and it’s time to begin storing up meat for the long winter
ahead. Because the fields were traditionally reaped in late September or
early October, hunters could easily see fox and other animals that come
out to glean from the fallen grains. Probably because of the threat of
winter looming close, the Hunter’s Moon is generally accorded with
special honor, historically serving as an important feast day in both
Western Europe and among many Native American tribes.
Full Beaver Moon – November 6 This was the time to set
beaver traps before the swamps froze, to ensure a supply of warm winter
furs. Another interpretation suggests that the name Full Beaver Moon
comes from the fact that the beavers are now actively preparing for
winter. It is sometimes also referred to as the Frosty Moon.
The Full Cold Moon; or the Full Long Nights Moon – December 6
During this month the winter cold fastens its grip, and nights are at
their longest and darkest. It is also sometimes called the Moon before
Yule. The term Long Night Moon is a doubly appropriate name because the
midwinter night is indeed long, and because the Moon is above the
horizon for a long time. The midwinter full Moon has a high trajectory
across the sky because it is opposite a low Sun.

Top 10 Crystals for the Fall
So I was online looking around and started wondering what are the perfect stones/crystals that would be better suited for Fall/Winter time. I have complied a small list of the best suited ones! Enjoy!!
1. Amber: Warm and inviting this actual resin from tree sap is an excellent choice for Fall. It is excellent at detoxification and protection from radiation, especially x-rays, sun, computers, airport, planes and other people’s energies. Due to its strong connection to nature and the earth, amber is a great stone for grounding our higher energies. Amber can add stability to your life. Helpful in clearing up depression and suicidal thoughts therefore, bringing about a positive mental state. Also useful as a memory aid, which makes it a good stone for studying. Amber is used for past life work, divination and scrying. It aligns mental and emotional bodies via its deep orange and yellow color.
2. Amethyst: The stone of spirituality and dream recall. Used for contentment and meditation. Provides common sense and flexibility in decisions. Strengthens and enhances psychic abilities, imagery and mind quieting. Wear when sleeping or when awake to reduce anger, impatience, and nightmares. Most effective on the Brow and Crown Chakra. Amethyst contains the grounding color of red with the energy of blue, which is expanding, spacious and flow of peace. Amethyst is the color that you see in the sky as twilight transitions into night. Amethyst takes you on this transition from the magic time of dusk to a conscious shift into a different place. Crossing this threshold is the lesson of humility, which Amethyst can teach us. This stone can show us how to let go and trust; surrender so that you may see beyond the cycle that consumes your attention; give it all up, so that you can receive more; and bow, that you may become a part of the greater whole. Amethyst is considered a Master Healing stone.
3. Carnelian: This stone represents confidence, boldness, initiative, dramatic abilities, assertiveness and outgoingness. Precision, analysis, stimulates appetite, encourages celebration and brings awareness of feelings. It is the stone of passion and sexuality and is associated with the Sacral/Spleen Chakra. This stone helps you feel anchored and comfortable with your surroundings. Provides a connection to the past or to historical events. Carnelian can improve motivation. Helps one achieve greater success in career or personal matters. Helps ground people who meditate. Carnelian is one of the most helpful crystals for healing trauma, stress and emotional wounds that have accumulated in the etheric body or the Aura and are now manifesting as physical symptoms.
4.Copper: Excellent energy conductor! Sends and amplifies thoughts, healing, and gem electrical energy into wearer’s energy field. Next to skin: Detoxes and soothes arthritis, rheumatism, other inflammation problems. 3rd chakra: stomach, intestines. Warms, releases resentment, anger. Built up in joints as arthritis. Exhaustion recovery, circulation, balances warm sun energy and cool lunar energy. Energize with sun. A plentiful metal ore that ranges in color from a soft red-brown to a deep brick red. Assists in the fight against inflammatory diseases such as arthritis and rheumatism, particularly when used in conjunction with other stones. Helps stabilize the metabolism and heightens the immune system.
5. Hematite: This crystal is the most recommended stone for grounding and is associated with the Root Chakra, by encourages ones survival instincts and is centering. Hematite condenses scattered feelings, turns fuzziness into mental clarity, enhances concentration, memory, practicality, helps those who study, do bookkeeping, detailed work and helps with sound sleep. Considered the symbol of life energy, hematite allows for more confidence, will power and boldness. Helps us adjust to being physical. A protective stone and helps bolster low self-esteem. Hematite is known to deflect negativity. It restores equilibrium, stability and is also used for astral protection. It brings our awareness back to the body and helps one maintain their sense of self. If worn, Hematite should be placed near the base of the spine.

6. Jasper: This stone is a methodical and meticulous worker of practical, down to earth solutions. It has the ability to foster and nurture and its energy is used for grounding and protection. Considered more effective if it is used for long periods of time because it works slowly. Each color of Jasper has additional, specific qualities when used alone. Jasper is very effective when use on the Root Chakra.
7. Petrified Wood: This “stone” is most noted in helping us to investigate past-life experiences. Makes the user more aware of nature. It is a warm earthy stone, which is used at the Root Chakra, encouraging ones survival instincts and is grounding. Petrified Wood is also believed to energize the Heart Chakra. In mythological times, petrified wood was believed to possess divine power and to this day, stands as a symbol of man’s true connection to the natural world. This stone helps with mental longevity, helping to sooth emotions, generating calm and relieves stress.
8. Kunzite: is a powerful, high level stone. It is used against negative
energy and empowers positive and loving thoughts. Most effective on the
Heart Chakra, it opens the emotional heart and spiritual heart. It
represents unconditional lovingness and compassion. Used for healing
abuse/loss/addictions. Helps emotional balance, confidence, connection
to higher self and oneness. Kunzite is also used on the Brow and Crown
Chakra for the reason that it deepens altered states: psychic readings,
healing…being centered emotionally and spiritually. Strengthens healers
and teachers.

9. Sodalite: This stone is most recognized for healing, meditation and wisdom. This a good stone for general communication for self and writing. It is used for expressing logic and ideas due to its connection with the Throat Chakra. It is also used at the Brow Chakradue to the fact that it can access fine levels of intuitive information and promote the understanding of these concepts. It is also known to enhance community relationships. Considered a stone that is still evolving, sodalite can strongly affect changes in your attitude about yourself. It helps you be more objective and less critical about ways of dealing with existence. It is a stone associated with studying. This stone should be worn or carried around as a touch stone for a long period of time in order to reap its full benefits.
10. Sunstone: This stone is a kiss of sunshine, crystallized. Honors the God, brings good luck and fortune. Energizes and empowers one’s self. Warms the heart and lifts/rejuvenates the spirit. Sunstone is used for protection, life force, and grounding. Sunstone is a great stone to use with “energy vampires”, or those who drain your energy from you. This includes parents, children, lovers, patients, bosses or anyone who is possessive, aggressive or overbearing. Sunstone breaks these bonds and allows light, separation and clarity from these energies. This stone clears and brightens both the entire Chakra and unbounds the Aura. Sunstone does great justice when placed on our power center or Solar Plexus Chakra. Sunstone is a great stone to relieve stress and overcome fear. This stone is so brilliant that it can bring optimism, happiness and joy to anyone! Use this stone to help bring awareness to your spiritual realm and encourage the priorities of life. This is one of my favorite stones for depression. A good stone to strengthen the psyche as it promotes cheerfulness, good humor and a benevolent temper.

The Choices I Make
Hello my lovely bloggers, Well I have been away for awhile, moved back home, tried to find a place and didn't succeed. We stayed with my husband's mom for awhile, and I looked everyday for our own place, finally I grabbed the news paper one day and seen a listing about a huge home for cheap! Called immediately and told the man I was interested! Well, we got the house after a few weeks of waiting, impatiently I might add! Now we are moved in, we have lived here almost two months now! We had a few problems starting out...termites are very expensive! $1,200 later they are gone.
My weight loss took a back seat for the moment, as it failed the first attempt, so now I have to try a little harder the second time around!

Now on to my awful choice making skills, So about two weeks ago I wrecked my hubbies car, it needs a new radiator, bumper, and I warped the wheel, well he was upset at that..
<----pictures
Then to top it off, I dove into a local pond here in town Thursday, landed on a rock with my head :(

Needless to say, I am on a path of destruction and I am ready for that path to come to a end! It is getting painful. But on a plus side my lovely daughters party was this past weekend and she had a blast!!! 6 years old and she thinks she is grown.
Well till the next time,
Silver!!

13 lbs Banished
So today I finally got on and decided it was time to update my Blog! **Claps heard from all over** yes I know I have been away for a few weeks, I had quite a crazy past two weeks, father was in the hospital, work, family issues ect, ect...
Well, I was finally able to weigh myself, I have banished 13 lbs from my body! I am so happy to see all that baby weight finally coming off my midsection! It would be nice to see it come off a little faster but I know slow and steady will help me keep it off.
Other than that I do my everyday routines; Cleaning, sweeping, moping, making beds, dishes and clothes fun stuff am I right!! Wrong! haha :P but I get to enjoy my kids growing up, help them with homework when they need it, or just little life lessons!
The other day my son was outside playing when he comes to the door and screams at me, "MOMMY" and so I didn't have a chance to really reply because I was making dinner, so he did it again...Finally I was able to turn around and I said,"yes honey what can I do for you", He pressed his little face against the screen, looked up at me with those beautiful blue eyes and says, "Mommy you are so beautiful and I love you!!" :'() tears welled up and I was just like wow! I am amazed at how wonderful he is and how sweet he can be! I am glad he has learned at least that in life how to make someone feel loved and important! Well I told him I loved him so very much and he told me again I was so beautiful haha Gotta love the sweetness from little boys!!
Well now that I have shared some of my week/month let me know how yours went!!

Are you ready?
With my children at that stage of wanting to do things on their own but not doing everything they should, them being so young (5 and 4). So I went about finding a check list of what I wanted them to do, with out having to remind them constantly. Since putting this up the kids have dramatically become cleaner! If they forget all they have to do is glance at the kid friendly list with the pictures and do what is listed!! There is also a blank space to add anything extra that you wish your children to do.The most important one on my list would be brush your teeth. They are always snacking, so its important to keep your teeth bright and clean! It is usually the first thing most people notice.
I hope this helps you all keep your little rugrats a little cleaner and more organized!!

into crumbles. Add the egg and vanilla and mix. Once thick, take the
dough in about 1 tablespoon amounts and form balls with it (if the dough
is very sticky add a pinch more flour). Place balls on a baking sheet
that has been sprayed lightly with cooking spray.
Using a pinky or index finger press a dent into the dough balls.(Shown in picture to the right)
Place jam (about 3 teaspoons) into a sandwich bag (or piping bag if you have one), cut the corner and twist. Use piping bag to place a drop the size of the dent onto the cookie.
Bake 15-20 minutes, or until cookie is a golden color.

Apple Turnovers
Ingredients
1-2 apples (Honey crisp or tangos) medium size
cinnamon
flour
sugar
Pillsbury pie crusts (comes with 2 crusts, determine amount by amount of apples)
Preheat oven to 425 degrees
Core apples using an apple slicer. Then dice apples into small chunks.
Heat about 1/3 cup of water in a sauce pan. Add apples and bring to a boil for about 5 minutes stirring constantly. Turn heat down to simmer. Add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Heat to boiling again for about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to simmer and add 1 tablespoon of flour and mix thoroughly.
Pour apples into a bowl and let cool in the refrigerator.

Take out pie crusts and cut them into fourths. Add
cooled apples to each triangle (about 1 tablespoon depending on the
size) and fold closed. Sprinkle a light amount of sugar on the pie
crusts (or use a frosting after the turn overs are done). Bake for about
20 minutes or until the crust is golden.

Homemade sushi rice and Sushi rolls
2 c. short grain white rice, preferably Japanese sushi rice
Lots of fresh, cold water
A measuring cup
A mesh strainer
A heavy, 2-quart pot with a lid
A wooden spoon
A timer
A 4-quart plastic, silicone, or glass bowl
1/2 c. white rice vinegar
2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
A four-inch piece of konbu seaweed
And a 1-quart saucepan
Step 1: Rinse rice
Place the rice in a mesh strainer and rinse it under cold running water. Pick out any debris you might find in the rice, such as weird little pebbles or odd-looking grains of rice.
Step 2: Soak rice
Place the rinsed rice in your 2-quart pot and fill the pot with water until it's about one inch above the rice. Let this soak for 30 minutes.
(picture)
Step 3: Rinse rice again
Place the soaked rice back in the strainer and rinse it again under cold running water until the water runs clear.
Step 4: Boil rice
Place the rinsed, drained rice back in the saucepan and add 2 1/4 cups of cold water. Cover the pot, place it over high heat, and bring it to a boil.
Step 5: Turn down heat
Once at a boil—you'll see steam and bubbles escaping from under the lid—turn the heat down to the lowest possible setting.
Step 6: Let rice simmer
Let the rice simmer for 20 minutes. Set a timer and don't lift the lid to check on the rice until it goes off.
Tip: If there's still water in the pot after 20 minutes, put the lid back on and let the rice cook a few more minutes until all the water is absorbed.
Step 7: Boil mixture
While the rice is cooking, place the rice vinegar, salt, and sugar in the smaller, 1-quart pot and bring it to a boil on medium high heat, stirring regularly until the salt and sugar dissolve. Add the konbu to the vinegar mixture and turn off the heat. Set the pot aside to cool.
Step 8: Let rice sit
Once the rice has absorbed all the water, turn off the heat and let it sit for 15 minutes with the lid still on.
Step 9: Spread out rice
Dump the rice into a large non-metal bowl and spread it out with a wooden spoon so it will cool down faster.
Tip: Don't scrape the bottom of the pot—any dried, crusty bits of rice will add a funny flavor and texture to your sushi.
Step 10: Pour mixture
Remove the konbu from the cooled vinegar and slowly pour the mixture over a spoon into the cooked rice, gently stirring and tossing to combine and cool it.That's it; you've just saved yourself years of practice!
While your rice is cooling set up your station.
You will need:
Nori seaweed
Crab meat or your choice of meat (tuna works well also)
Optional items such as;
Cucumber
Cream cheese
Avocado
and many other items
Rolling mat
Plastic wrap (or ziplock bag as I have done, less waste)
Step 1: Encase mat in plastic
Cut a large piece of plastic wrap a little more than twice the size of your bamboo mat and place it on the table. Place the bamboo mat on top and encase it in the plastic by smoothing the wrap evenly over both sides. Set the mat aside.
Step 2: Prepare cucumber
Peel the cucumber and scoop out the seeds with a small spoon. Cut the cucumber half into thin strips about 1/8 - to 1/4-inch wide and set them aside.
Step 3: Prepare avocado
Cut the avocado in half lengthwise and twist the two halves until they separate. Cut the half without the pit into two quarters. Remove their skin and cut them lengthwise into quarter-inch slices. Set the slices aside and clean your hands and knife with the damp kitchen cloth.
Tip
To prevent the avocado from oxidizing, or turning brown, squeeze some fresh lemon juice on the cut avocados.
Step 4: Put rice on nori
Lay a half sheet of nori shiny side down. Moisten your hands with a little water and grab a handful, or about a cup, of prepared sushi rice. Ball it up and put it on top of the nori.
Step 5: Spread rice
Spread and pat the rice across the nori, leaving a 1/2-inch margin uncovered at the bottom edge.
Tip
Don't use too much rice. It should be no more than 1/4-inch thick and you should be able to see the nori sheet through it.
Step 6: Sprinkle sesame seeds
Sprinkle sesame seeds over the rice.
Step 7: Flip nori onto mat
Lay the plastic-wrapped bamboo in front of you. Flip the prepared nori sheet rice-side down at the bottom end of the mat.
Step 8: Lay filling in nori
Lay a strip of shredded crab across the middle of the nori, add a strip or two of cucumber next to it, and lay avocado slices on top.
Step 9: Roll with mat
Use the bamboo mat to roll the bottom edge of the nori over the filling in the center, tucking it over firmly so the filling is enclosed.
Step 10: Continue to roll
Pull the mat back and lay it over the roll again. This time continue to roll forward, applying even pressure and tightening as you roll, using your mat as leverage.
Step 11: Smooth out roll
Once it's taken shape, take the roll off the mat and lay the mat over it. Press and smooth the roll, compressing it tightly and evening out the ends.
Step 12: Cut roll
With a very sharp knife use a delicate but firm sawing motion to cut the roll in half. Cut each half into three equal pieces.
Step 13: Repeat process
Repeat the process with your remaining half of nori, lightly layering it with rice, adding the filling, and rolling and cutting the sushi.

Once that is complete you will begin to add the drips which you put on the wire then loop them as small as possible on to the fishing line then you finish off the necklace with your clamps and hooks to secure the necklace!!
Hope this tutorial has been helpful!!

Eating Dinner with the family
Other times it was a serious event where I would make something and enjoy the day with the kids.
As we came together though, I realized that sometimes it is nice to sit down and talk about the day and enjoy a warm meal together. It helped me realize that we are a very hectic family, fighting and arguing (5 year old and a 4 year old) it tends to happen to the best of us. I am happy to say that we are still trying to make the 3 days a week sometimes more if possible!!
The next task is to slow down and smell the roses literally........ Life is not a race, no need to speed around getting upset and getting agitated from things not happening right then like; My son and daughter love to help but sometimes I am like no not right now or I need to get this done right now go play mommy will be done soon! Instead of saying no go make it a game....Encouraging now means more help in the future.... Stay tuned to see how well that works out (Not a whole lot of luck on my end but I will try )Tomorrow I am going to tell you about a new family fun day that we have discovered!!!!! So see you tomorrow!
